Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, is a professional corporation in Macon formed October 1, 1982. This firm is an outgrowth of several separate accounting practices. Clem S. Howard, Jr. entered public accounting in 1947 and founded the Firm when he became a sole practitioner in 1952. Dawson A. Moore, Jr. entered public accounting in 1956 and joined Clem on September 1, 1974 to form the firm of Howard & Moore, Certified Public Accountants. Samuel A. McDuffie entered public accounting in 1968, and on October 1, 1981 joined Howard & Moore to form the firm, Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C. Georgia G. Slagle and Stephanie C. Surles became shareholders January 1, 1996. Currently, the firm has three shareholders and approximately thirteen professionals and paraprofessionals.
We at Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C. are concerned about our community. Both the Company and our personnel maintain an active role in community activities through civic clubs, church and youth activities, trade associations and professional societies. Within these contacts, we are made aware of trends that may affect both our client’s business and personal matters.
The firm provides services in the fields of accounting and auditing; income, estate and gift taxes; and management advisory services to individuals, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans. Over the years, we have undertaken these engagements only when we were capable of providing quality service to our clients. It is our intention to continue to expand our expertise, within the capabilities and resources available to us, to meet the ever-growing needs of our clients.
An on-site tax and accounting library stays up-to-date with all of the latest accounting information. The utilization of CD-ROM technology and the internet enhance our research capabilities. The CPAs and professional staff frequently attend workshops and meetings, as well as the required continuing education courses, to remain competent advisors and expand our expertise.
