Samuel A. McDuffie, CPA
Sam is a founding member of Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C. He graduated from Georgia Southern College with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1968. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Tax Section, and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Sam helps small businesses and individuals with tax and financial planning and is also experienced with auditing and accounting for employee benefit plans and not for profit organizations. Sam has served on the Professional Ethics and Accounting and Auditing Committees of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and has served as a trustee of its Educational Foundation and as president of the Middle Georgia Chapter. He is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Macon and the Mentors Project of Bibb County and is a graduate of Leadership Macon. He is currently a trustee at Northminster Presbyterian Church, member of the Executive Board and immediate past president of the Central Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America and past chair of the Board of Trustees of the Kiwanis Club of Macon Hamilton Holt Scholarship Fund. He and his wife, Virginia, have three children and seven grandchildren.
Stephanie C. Surles, CPA
Stephanie is a graduate of Georgia College and State University and has worked in public accounting since 1986; she became a shareholder in Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C. in 1996. Stephanie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Tax Section and the Middle Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Stephanie’s practice focuses on accounting, planning and income tax preparation for individuals, construction, real estate development entities and small businesses. She has also developed an expertise in issues related to estate taxes; helping individuals save estate taxes with appropriate planning and assisting executors with estate administration and estate tax preparation. She has served as President of the Gray Junior Chamber of Commerce and State Treasurer for the Georgia Jaycees. Stephanie currently serves on the board for the Macon Estate Planning Council, Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia and North Macon Kiwanis Club. She is also a member of Martha Bowman Memorial Methodist Church, Sylvia Bond Nursing Society, Med Cen Community Health Foundation and a graduate of the 2000 Leadership Macon class.
Georgia G. Slagle, CPA
Georgia graduated summa cum laude from Georgia College and State University with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1987, and worked with a CPA firm in Atlanta prior to joining Howard, Moore & McDuffie, P.C. in 1989 and becoming a shareholder in 1996. Georgia’s areas of expertise is in advisory, audit and accounting services to businesses, not for profit organizations and employee benefit plans. She also provides tax planning and tax return preparation services for individuals and businesses. Georgia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Middle Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Rotary Club of Downtown Macon, Career Women’s Network of Macon, Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church and a graduate of the 1999 Leadership Macon class. Georgia is a past president of the Middle Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and a past board member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. She also served on the board as a finance committee member of the Girl Scouts of Middle Georgia, United Way of Central Georgia and Med Cen Community Health Foundation. She was selected in 2003 as one of Macon Magazine’s five young leaders of the year for her professional reputation and community involvement. She is also a member of the 2006 class of Leadership Georgia.
